Thumbs up for Guild member’s team endurance race
The BBC Children in Need 24-Hour Team Endurance 2008 is being organised and hosted by The Race Centre (driverschallenge.co.uk) at its dedicated – and Britain’s first – race car simulation centre in Hampshire. There, Scuderia Auto Express’s hand-picked squad will prepare with two free practice sessions in early November before bracing themselves for the race proper on 14-15 November – from 2pm on Friday afternoon until 2pm Saturday. The event has attracted 10 teams from all over Britain including, it is rumoured, at least one Formula One-affiliated squad.
And the reason? Other than eternal glory, the teams are hoping to raise thousands of pounds for this year's Children in Need. And that’s where you come in. Scuderia Auto Express needs your support, preferably financial, at the dedicated justgiving.com/autoexpress24hr website.
Bear in mind they’re competing in a 24-hour virtual race with no sleep, no toilet breaks and extremely slim chances of winning. Humour them by sparing a couple of quid!
