A Bluestorm in your garden this summer

Introduced to the UK by Tesselaar International (Tesselaar) - the worldwide horticultural experts - the Bluestorm Agapanthus and the Snowstorm Agapanthus are enormously resilient, drought-resistant and beautiful. Both are an easy and reliable way to add a tropical touch and exotic feel to any garden.
The gorgeous Snowstorm produces hundreds of brilliant white flowers with up to 50 delicately coloured florets on each flower head. Its vibrant sister, Bluestorm, produces hundreds of violet blue flowers – a storm of wild violet that will brighten any landscape and outshine its weaker cousins from late spring to mid-summer. It will even flower sporadically throughout autumn.
These new varieties achieve their magnificent extended display by producing two, three or more times the number of flowering stems of ordinary agapanthus. A two-three year old plant will produce up to 25 flowering stems; a four year-old plant up to 50 stems and a five year-old plant up to 100 flowering stems each year.
Both varieties grow to a compact 70-75cm, so they are a perfect height for planting just about anywhere from borders, grand landscapes and hanging pots or planted together in rock and pebble gardens to offer brilliant contrasts. Their lush tufts of dense stripy leaves provide a wonderfully rich, green spectacle even after the flowers have gone, so they are a colourful component of the landscape throughout the year. They need little or no maintenance and are highly resilient to disease and pests.
