Welcome to Stamford Brook, where the living is easy and the stunning setting is simply hard to resist. Built on former National Trust land on the edge of the Dunham Massey estate in Altrincham, Stamford Brook is a truly sustainable community that’s emerging into one of the most important developments in the North West today.

It’s a flagship venture between the National Trust, and house builders Bryant Homes and Redrow Homes, that demonstrates how large developments can offer more sustainable living.

All of the 710 new homes are designed to be ultra-efficient in their use of energy, water and building materials. For example they’re fitted with low volume flush toilets to keep water usage to a minimum and residents are encouraged to segregate their own waste for recycling. While other general environmental standards have been adopted such as the use of sustainable timber and avoiding the use of PVC.

But the homes are only part of the Stamford Brook story. The partners have gone to great lengths to improve the natural landscape that will be used and enjoyed by all the residents of this ground breaking venture.

Sinderland Brook, which runs through Stamford Brook, is the subject of the largest river restoration project of its kind in England, while the development will also include wildlife corridors and community woodland will be regenerated to encourage wildlife, enhance the existing environment and set an idyllic scene for rural family life.
