The Miller Homes/Smooth FM “Who’s Coming to a Celebrity Dinner” competition offered a fabulous dinner party prize with Julie Hesmondhalgh and David Neilson, who play Coronation Street’s legendary Roy and Hayley Cropper.

Not only was the dinner star-studded but it was cooked by a star as well. The canapés and luxury three course meal were prepared by Nigel Smith, the award-winning executive chef of Ribby Hall and star of many TV cookery programmes.

Winner Carolyn Davies from Prescott was “absolutely delighted” to be drawn from the thousands of entries the competition received. She invited to the very special evening her 18-year old daughter Jennifer, her good friend Pauline Bows and the mother of her son’s girlfriend, Trish McEneaney.

For Jennifer it was a double celebration, as she had just had her A Level results. Passing with flying colours, she is off to Leeds University in a couple of weeks to study medicine.

Picked up, from her home in Prescott, in the Smooth Cruiser, the girls were whisked off to the Hemingway showhouse at the exclusive Greenwood development for their evening of fun.

After a champagne reception in the lounge, they moved through to the large dining room for the main event. Having been really looking forward to her “real treat” of meeting the stars, Carolyn was delighted “We had an absolutely amazing night, you couldn’t put a price on it, the company, the venue and the food were all just fabulous. David and Julie were so down-to-earth, it was like having a meal with two old friends. We just got on like a house on fire and talked about everything from politics to HRT patches!”

David and Julie were amazed at this ‘gem’ of a development in the exclusive Ellesmere Park area of Eccles. The final few releases of 4 and 5 bedroom detached executive homes at Greenwood have are now available, with prices from £325,000 to £399,000
