First time buyers have dream offer

Barratt Manchester’s determination to help first time buyers and key workers get on the property ladder has seen the creation of the Dream Start scheme. Under Dream Start those who might otherwise find it hard to own their first home are able to purchase a Barratt property for just 75 per cent of the asking price.

The additional 25 per cent only becomes payable when the property is sold, transferred or after 10 years, whichever is sooner, and it is based on the value of the property at that time.

Which means that at the Pennington Park development near Leigh the cost of a brand new two-bedroom apartment – which is ready in May – is just £85,000 for those who fit the bill.

“It is a fantastic scheme and provides a solution for those keen to get their first home or live near their work,” says sales negotiator Anne Miller. “And because we appreciate how expensive setting up a home can be, we will put £1,000 towards legal fees and carpet the properties, just to give the buyer that little extra help.”

And if the spectacular Dream Start scheme was not enough, the imminent opening of show homes means that the development has had a lot of interest.

It is situated close to the lakes and walkways of Pennington Flash and within walking distance of the £multi-million Sports Village in Leigh.
