Demolition begins in Heywood to make room for new homes Demolition began this week of Unity Mill, a former industrial warehouse in Heywood, Rochdale , to pave the way for ‘Copper Wells', a collection of 197 houses by Countryside Properties.

The demolition of the warehouse, previously belonging to car care products manufacturer, Tetrosyl, will see Countryside Properties transform the brownfield site into an impressive 13.05 acre development, comprising of townhouses, three and four bedroom detached and semi-detached homes.

Currently undergoing £4 million worth of regeneration, the old mill town of Heywood is poised to offer increased employment opportunities, and Countryside Properties is confident that Copper Wells will cater to those young professionals and families that desire quality homes, for a competitive price.

Countryside Properties regional sales director, Martin Leggett commented: "This site is an important acquisition for us and we're looking forward to making a sustainable contribution to a flourishing town that is in the process of massive regeneration. Copper Wells will offer high quality, well designed homes and we're sure it will prove very popular with local residents hoping to climb the property ladder in style."

With new health and council service centres on the horizon in Heywood, residents at Copper Wells will benefit from a prime location within easy reach of all local amenities. Conveniently located between the thriving towns of Bury and Rochdale and just seven miles from the bright city lights of Manchester, Heywood offers an escape from the hustle and bustle with easy access to neighbouring towns and cities.

Heywood boasts strong transport links, with the M62, M66 and M60 motorways only a short distance from the site, making Copper Wells the perfect location for the commuter. All properties will come with on-site parking, some with garages.

Families at Copper Wells will find a good choice of schools in the surrounding area. Numerous sports facilities are available such as Rochdale and Bury football clubs, amateur Rugby, bowling and Cricket clubs, and these together with local sports centres and the surrounding Pennines and West Pennine Moors provide a range of activities for all tastes.

Construction on Copper Wells, located off Argyle Street in Heywood is due to start site in September of this year, subject to detailed planning consent being received. The first homes are due to be released for sale in February 2009.
