Countryside Properties is top of the class for health and safety A visit from Countryside Properties and a few tips from Bob the Builder have helped to lay the foundations for health and safety for students at Woodland Community Primary School on Regent Street in Heywood.

Aimed at increasing awareness of the potential dangers of playing on or near construction sites, two special assemblies were held at the school. With the help of Countryside Properties' health and safety officer, Colin Murray, and a Bob the Builder themed presentation, the assemblies were designed to educate pupils on personal responsibility and the consequences of their actions.

Thursday's assembly saw Year 1 and Year 2 pupils talk to Colin about the many dangers they might face on a building site and ask any questions about the importance of keeping play time in the play ground.

A separate assembly was held for Years 4, 5 and 6, who even got togged up in hard hats and high visibility jackets whilst trying on Countryside Properties' health and safety clothing.

The presentations form part of Countryside Properties' efforts to meaningfully engage with the communities in which it builds. With two new developments coming soon in Heywood, Copper Wells on Argyle Street and Merchants Gate on Rose Hill Street, the company is keen to invest in the welfare of the area.

Martin Leggett, Countryside Properties regional sales director, commented: "With construction due to commence on the new houses at Copper Wells and Merchants Gate, we wanted to talk to the local children to make sure they understood the potential dangers of playing on building sites. Health and Safety is our main priority and this project gives us a real opportunity to engage with the local community and make sure they stay safe in the neighbourhood."

Merchants Gate will comprise a beautiful collection of three bedroom homes and Copper Wells, a range of three and four bedroom homes.

It is anticipated the homes at Copper Wells will be released for sale early in 2009 and Merchants Gate in Spring 2009. To be included on the priority list, register your interest at Merchants-gate.com or Copperwells.com.
