Friends together at Appleton Gardens

A couple living at George Wimpey’s Appleton Gardens development in Cheetham Hill have been so pleased with the price of their new home and their life at the development, that they’ve persuaded two friends to buy a house there too.

Maulik Shah and his wife Ankita moved into their four bedroom home at the development with their eight year old daughter Chahat at the end of last year, and have since received a cash reward from George Wimpey for recommending the outlet to their friends.
George Wimpey’s Recommend a Friend scheme is very simple; when someone completes the purchase of their new home at the development and recommends a friend who also buys a new home, both parties receive £500 from George Wimpey.

The Shahs had previously been renting about half a mile away and were very keen to remain in the area. “We wanted to wait until the time was right to buy rather than take any risks,” said Mr Shah. “When house prices began to drop last year we decided to take advantage, and managed to save around £40,000!”

Appleton Gardens is ideally placed for both Maulik’s and Ankita’s jobs and is very convenient for getting into Manchester City Centre. It is only a few minutes walk to the tram stop and there are plenty of food shops close by including a Tescos, and there is also a regular bus service nearby.

The couple have been very pleased with the quality of the finish of the house and say that the customer service they’ve received has been excellent.

Maulik commented: “We had such a good experience with George Wimpey that I recommended the development to colleagues at work. The money we received via the Recommend a Friend scheme has come in very useful, and my friends also received £500 through the scheme too!”

Mr Shah’s friends Doctor Sheth and his wife Falguni were quick to come along to the development when they heard about it, and they also moved into their new two bedroom apartment in Appleton Gardens not long afterwards.

The couple had also been renting close by and were also keen to stay in Cheetham Hill because of its convenient location for their jobs. Doctor Sheth works at a surgery in Rochdale, while his wife works in the city centre.

Dr Sheth said: “We’d been thinking of moving for some time and when the prices came down substantially last year, we decided the time was now right. It’s a great little development close to local shops with Smedley Fields across the road, and I’ve since recommended the development to my friends as well.”

Another friend of Maulik’s - Paras Shah – also came along to view the development and he too decided to take advantage of the prices at Appleton Gardens and recently moved into a two bedroom apartment with his wife Monal and his four year old daughter, Khushi.

He commented: “It’s in an ideal location for us as it’s very close to my daughter’s school and it’s so easy to get into the city centre. We’ve been very pleased with the quality of our new home, and the service we’ve received from George Wimpey has been excellent.”
