National awards for Manchester site managers The site managers at George Wimpey developments in Todmorden, Heywood and Didsbury have had their work at the sites recognised in a national awards scheme.

Simon Yeulett, site manager at Castle Hill Park on Halifax Road, Todmorden, Alan Harley, site manager at Hey Mount on Mount Road in Heywood and Steve Brough, site manager of M20 West, on Nell Lane in West Didsbury have all won a Quality Award from the NHBC (National House Building Council) in its Pride in the Job awards scheme.

There were more than 18,000 contenders for the Pride in the Job awards this year. Simon, Alan and Steve are three of just 400 to receive a Quality Award and they now qualify for the next heat in Autumn where entrants will battle it out to earn an NHBC Seal of Excellence award.

Winning a Pride in the Job award involves a huge amount of commitment and hard work. Judging is based on 38 different elements of site management, from technical knowledge, consistency in the build process to excellent leadership and organisational skills.

George Wimpey Manchester managing director Bob Picktall has congratulated Simon, Alan and Steve on their efforts.

He said: “Only site managers who demonstrate exceptional standards in every area of their work on site and the homes they build are considered for a Pride in the Job award, so we are immensely proud of the recognition that Simon, Alan and Steve have achieved.

“Customers at Castle Hill Park, Hey Mount and M20 West will be interested to hear of their success too. The fact that new homes at the development are overseen by a winning site manager is big plus.”
