A record at Fairfax Gardens, Portishead

What is thought to be a record number of employees have bought homes on one of George Wimpey’s developments in Portishead. Nine people on the company payroll – including the site manager and assistant site manager – have bought properties in Fairfax Gardens.

Sales and marketing director for George Wimpey Bristol is Pauline Fletcher and she thinks this could be a record.

Pauline said: “Frequently we’ll find that colleagues buy one of our own homes but nine on one particular site is really quite special. It just goes to show what a popular location Fairfax Gardens in Portishead has become.”

Fairfax Gardens is a mix of traditional and modern town houses in Portishead which has become popular due to its accessibility to the motorway and local amenities.

The development offers a range of four and five bedroom houses, many with single or double garages. Four bedroom homes available include; the Warwick detached house starting from £259,995, the Clevedon townhouse starting from £324,995, the Candleston detached house starting from £329,995, and the Richmond detached house at £344,995. The five bed Chelmsford is also available with prices beginning from £387,995.

Two buyers on the site are Mark Damerell – who is the site manager and his assistant site manager Tom Allen.

Mark said: “Having built these homes, we know all their qualities. We didn’t hesitate in purchasing one and I wouldn’t be surprised if even more people from the company did the same.”

The sales office at Fairfax Gardens is open Monday - Wednesday 10:00am-5:30pm, Thursday 1pm-5.30pm and Friday - Saturday 10:00am to 5.30pm; and Sunday 11:00am to 5:30pm.
