Persimmon donates to Marie Curie Cancer Care

The cash was raised via a variety of money spinning activities organised by the Persimmon Homes staff ranging from a charity auction to the Daffodil Day of fundraising across the region.
“We are delighted to have raised so much money for Marie Curie Cancer Care during our first six months as a business,” commented Carl Haley, managing director for Persimmon Homes Severn Valley.
“Every year we see thousands of families move happily into one of our homes, but statistics show that one in three of us will be affected by cancer at some time in our lives. Marie Curie Nurses provide invaluable support for cancer patients who want to be cared for in their own home. From large corporate events to individual contributions, the whole Severn Valley team has embraced the fundraising spirit and we would like to thank everyone in the region who has supported our efforts.”
Marie Curie Fundraiser, Amy Llewellyn who accepted the cheque from Persimmon Homes added: “The money Persimmon has donated will allow us to continue providing Marie Curie Nurses so that terminally ill people in the region can be cared for in comfort of their own homes. It will make a tremendous difference to the lives of both patients and their families, for further information on the work of the charity and how you can get involved go to Mariecurie.org.uk ”.
