Early sales success for old cider works

11th April 2008 Print
Buyers are flocking to buy homes at Barratt's Old Cider Works development in the market town of Taunton, weeks before the site has officially opened. "We've already had a number of off-plan sales of two-bedroom apartments and three-bedroom houses," reports Louise Terry, Barratt field sales manager.

"We are currently selling from a local estate agents' office and will be moving on site at the end of April.

"We can offer a number of incentives to people who are buying off plan," she added. "These include first-time buyer packages, with deposits and legal fees paid, and other deals tailored to suit buyers' needs.

"Buying off plan is becoming an increasingly popular option for home buyers. We produce detailed artist's impressions of individual house types, together with comprehensive plans showing all the homes intended for a development."

When complete, the Old Cider Works will offer a range of high quality two, three and four-bedroom homes and current prices range from £139,950 to £203,000.

"The Old Cider Works is being built on the site of a disused cider plant, which had become something of a local eyesore," Louise continued. "This regeneration will provide homes, retail units, a health centre and a public house.

"A river runs through the development and there is a wealth of wildlife here, including otters. In fact, as part of the regeneration programme, otter ledges are being built along the river. It will be a lovely area to live in when complete."

The Old Cider Works nestles at the foot of the Quantock Hills, some two miles to the west of Taunton and close to the M5 motorway, with easy access to Bristol and the south west.

There are numerous amenities in the local villages, including a primary school, golf club. The thriving town of Taunton has a train station with regular services to London and the west of England.
