Out with the old at Duodecim

Out with the old at Duodecim Buying a new home can save time, money and is kinder for the environment, according to award winning Redrow Homes. The successful property developer says that whilst buying an older home might appear cheaper, the costs of renovating an old house to the same standards as a new one could be considerable. A new kitchen and bathroom, new heating system, replacement windows, wiring and other updates could see renovation costs spiral to over £20,000.

And more efficient heating and insulation in new homes means they produce far less greenhouse gas and makes them up to four times more energy efficient than older homes.

So it's out with the old and in with the new at Redrow's new Duodecim development of a dozen luxurious three and four-bedroom homes, in Bath.

Sandra Hughes, sales manager for Redrow Homes (South West) said: "Buying new is potentially hassle-free, with no upward chain and no chance of being gazumped. Add this to the other obvious benefits, including a 10-year ‘Buildmark' warranty from the National House Building Council, and it makes you wonder why everyone doesn't buy new."

Named after the Latin for number 12, the stunning Duodecim homes are built in quality local Ashlar stone and boast high-specification, quality interiors.

With the properties featuring fully-fitted luxurious kitchens and bathrooms, inconvenient renovations will be far from any buyer's mind. Every last detail has been thought of to give the homes a well-appointed feel, down to integrated microwaves and fully landscaped rear gardens.

Located in the desirable Poet's Corner area of Bear Flat, in Bath, the homes are close to the city centre, yet set within a quiet community. Bear Flat is only around a mile from the city centre, with a host of enviable facilities nearby, including famous-name high street shops, excellent sports and fitness facilities and the Bath Theatre Royal.

The site is within walking distance of the train station and has excellent road links to Bristol, Wiltshire and the rest of the South West. There are also 14 schools within a two mile radius, making it an ideal location for families.

Guaranteed to have widespread appeal among professionals and families, the first of these stunning new homes should be ready to move into in the summer. The properties are currently priced between £399,995 and £445,995.
