Barratt supports charity golf event at Farrington club Barratt was one of the sponsors of a charity golfing event at the Farrington Golf Club in Farrington Gurney, Somerset recently. The event, the Seniors Golf Competition, was held to raise funds for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. It was organised by the Radstock and Midsomer Norton Lions Club and teams competed for the Cameron Wood Trophy and prizes.

"We sponsored one of the 18 holes in the competition, which involved over 60 golfers," said Richard Lawson, Barratt sales manager. "The golf club is close to our new Fieldways development and we are always keen to support the communities in which we build.

"The Air Ambulance is a very worthy cause," Richard continued. "It is one of our key emergency services and volunteers help to ensure this vital service continues to fly."

The Air Ambulance helicopter costs in excess of £3,500 per day to run. It is crewed by a pilot and two paramedics, and is capable of carrying two stretcher patients and a sitting passenger. It undertakes an average of three or four missions a day, and can be anywhere in Somerset or Dorset within 19 minutes of receiving an emergency call.

The Farrington Golf Club is set in 200 acres of rolling Somerset countryside and Barratt's Fieldways development lies nearby, in the village of Paulton. The site offers a selection of apartments and family homes and current availability includes two-bedroom coach houses and four-bedroom houses. Prices range from £174,995 to £282,995.

Paulton is a large village located to the north of the Mendip Hills and local amenities include supermarkets, a library, schools and pubs. The village is close to the market town of Midsomer Norton and the former coal-mining town of Radstock. The A37 and A39 provide easy links to the cities of Bristol and Bath.
