Top up your mortgage with Barratt in the South West

2nd September 2008 Print
Top up your mortgage with Barratt in the South West Barratt is providing a helping hand to key workers and first time buyers in the south west by offering to top up their mortgages to help them buy the home they need.

The homebuilder has linked with My Choice HomeBuy, a collection of organisations including HomeBuy, Swaythling Housing and the Housing Corporation to offer mortgage top ups to those struggling to get onto the property ladder.

"The buyer must have the means to raise between 50 per cent and 85 per cent of the purchase price with a mortgage or savings. The remainder of the purchase price of the chosen home will be provided by an equity loan offered by Swaythling Housing Society," explained Caroline Hill, Barratt sales director for the south west region.

"This initiative helps those desperate to purchase a place of their own but who are having difficulties securing a mortgage, for example first time buyers. We can also help a number of people who have previously owned properties but are now unable to buy without assistance, for example in the case of a relationship breakdown.

"One of the key benefits is that the outstanding portion has no time limit to pay back, just a small annual interest charge."

The My Choice HomeBuy is available at developments throughout the south west including Old Cider Works in Norton Fitzwarren, where prices start from £151,000 for a Milton design 2 bedroom first floor apartment including garage and parking.

"Barratt is passionate about helping as many people as possible to buy a property. We have many initiatives, including this one, for first time buyers and key workers. And for those looking to buy who have a property to sell or who want to move up the ladder, we offer a part exchange option, and an agency selling service to help the selling, buying and moving process go as smoothly as possible," Caroline added.

"The help provided by My Choice HomeBuy is funded by the Government and terms and conditions apply. To find out if you are eligible and for more information, log on to home2own.org.uk."
