Open evening promotes affordable homes in Bridgwater

7th April 2009 Print
If you are a first-time buyer or key worker, you could buy a new home for just 70 per cent of the full asking price at Barratt’s Stockmoor Parade development in Bridgwater. Find out more at a special Home Buy Direct open evening on Wednesday 15th April.

“We will be open until 8pm so that people can call in on their way home from work,” reports Louise Terry, Barratt sales manager. “They will be able to get more information about the very successful Home Buy Direct Scheme, a government-backed initiative.

“With the scheme, eligible homebuyers can purchase 100 per cent of a new property for just 70 per cent of the price and no deposit is required.

“Barratt matches the government’s funding to provide the 30 per cent equity loan. The buyer pays no interest on this loan for five years, and repays the equity loan on the sale of the property,” she continued.

“Here at Stockmoor Parade, prices for new homes available through this scheme start from as little as £129,950, making them highly accessible to people who thought it would be impossible to buy in today’s economic climate.

“It’s not only first-time buyers and key workers who stand a chance of benefiting. People who have previously owned properties but are now unable to do so – for example, in cases where relationships have broken down– can also apply,” Louise concluded.

Stockmoor Parade, a select development of apartments and family houses, lies just minutes from Bridgwater town centre. Current availability includes a two-bedroom coach house priced at £129,950 and a three-bedroom Suffolk townhouse, priced from £169,950.

Conveniently located just off junction 24 of the M5 motorway, the site is part of the Stockmoor Village Development, which will also provide a new school and shopping facilities in North Petherton.
