Barratt brings new development to Wellington

Saturday June 13 sees the official opening of Cades Farm, Barratt’s brand new development in Wellington, Somerset. “This development, on a greenfield site, will offer something for everyone,” reports Louise Terry, Barratt sales manager.

“We will be providing a range of three, four and five-bedroom houses, most of which will be detached. The three bedroom houses will appeal to first and second time buyers and downsizers, while the larger homes will be ideal for families.

“Two show homes – the Dumont and Buchanan - will also be open on the launch day,” Louise continued. “The four-bedroom Dumont and the three-bedroom Buchanan are impressive, and will give visitors an idea of the high standards they can expect from homes at this development.

“We will be offering a range of buyer incentives, including shared equity schemes and part exchange options for people moving up to a larger home.

“I would recommend that prospective buyers register their details with us as soon as possible, to ensure they are the first in line when properties are released for sale in the coming months,” she concluded.

Located seven miles west of Taunton, Wellington is a small town standing between the River Tone and the Blackdown Hills. The nearby Wellington Monument, a 175ft column erected to commemorate the Duke of Wellington’s victory at Waterloo, is a prominent local landmark.

In the past, Wellington town played an important role in the wool industry and the local museum charts the growth of wool mills and the town’s association with the Iron Duke. The Fox Mill shop offers a fine selection of modern woollen and worsted cloth.

The town is also a keen contender in the South West in Bloom competition and, during the last six years, has won the Portman Cup and Gold Medal in the category for medium sized towns.

In addition to a wealth of local amenities including a sports centre, Wellington enjoys excellent road links. The nearby M5 provides easy access to the cities of Exeter to the south and Bristol to the north.
