Knockhill ready for record MotorFair

'The best motor show in Europe' is the target set by the event organisers and in only three years MotorFair has grown into a major visitor event, with attractions and activities for all members of the family.
Last year, 10,000 visitors made the second MotorFair a major hit and numbers are expected to grow rapidly this year. In 2005, 2500 people enjoyed circuit rides in a range of new cars, 1600 visitors took part in 4x4 'rambles', while another 1200 people experienced a skid pan session. All of those activities will be expanded for 2006 and more features have been added.
Each day of the weekend offers a great family day out, with adult admission at just £10 (concessions £5) or a super value family ticket for two adults and two children at only £25. Once inside the venue, many activities and attractions, including passenger rides and 4x4 rambles, are free of charge.
Most mainstream car marques will be showing their latest models, and many of them will be standing by in the pit lane at Knockhill to give visitors a demonstration run around the famous Scottish race track. At the track's 4x4 venue, visitors will get to experience a spectacular off-road driving course.
New for 2006 will be a 'truck zone', organised by the Scottish Truckers' Club and featuring more than 50 customised and show trucks. The 'Big Pete Monster Truck Show' will be in action, running several shows including car crushing and there will be a competition to win an unforgettable ride in the monster truck.
In the new-for-2006 'forces zone' will be displays of all sorts of hardware, armoured patrol vehicles, tanks, parachute displays, simulators and visitors can enter a competition to be a tank commander! The 'stunt zone' will include Charlie Shaw drifting his 500bhp 4x4 Ford Focus Cosworth, while Mark Luney's 700bhp Nissan Skyline will be drifting its way around the full Knockhill track.
The 'Supercar zone' will include stunning exhibits from Ferrari, Ascari, Lamborghini, Lotus and Mercedes SLR and owners of some of these glorious machines will be taking to the track to demonstrate their cars in two 25-minute track sessions each day. However, one of the mightiest spectacles of the weekend will be demonstration runs by an ex-Rubens Barrichello 2003 Ferrari Grand Prix car!
So, there is a wonderful array of attractions and activities for all the family at MotorFair 2006. The Knockhill circuit, which is well signed from the M90 at Dunfermline, is within a 90-minute drive for 90% of the Scottish population and with great value admission, this just has to be the place to be over the weekend of 13/14 May.
