Turbo Dynamics increase services as credit crunch sets in

Turbo Dynamics increase services as credit crunch sets in As the credit crunch continues to see companies struggling under the strain and we witness reliable big-name players falter in the unstable economic climate, everyone is wary of what might happen next. However, a company continuing to blossom and grow is Dorset based, Turbo Dynamics (TD).

The turbocharger company supply, design, upgrade/modify and service turbochargers for cars, commercial vehicles, the marine sector and for industrial companies. Established in 1991 the company has grown to have a strong worldwide customer base and is now reputed to be one of the leading combined Turbocharger Remanufacturer and Hybrid Turbocharger Designers in the world.

As the economy slows, Turbo Dynamics are looking at ways to stay ahead and be the number one turbocharger supplier of choice. So with this in mind, they have expanded on the services that they can offer to their customers: as of August, Turbo Dynamics became an official Silkolene Distributor and as of September, an official Zircotec Re-seller.

Turbo Dynamics and Zircotec have actually been working together since 2006 when TD realised there was a gap in the market for a technology that enhances the performance of turbochargers for road, race and rally applications.

By joining forces with ceramic coating specialists Zircotec, Turbo Dynamics can offer their customers ceramic coating for turbochargers, turbocharger related components (i.e. manifolds, exhaust headers, exhaust downpipes, external wastegates) and more. The ceramic coating is available in a vast range of colours including: Performance White, Diamond Black, Chilled Red, Yellow Gold, Sterling Silver, Fern Green and Ultra Blue. For more information on the range of parts that Turbo Dynamics can ceramic coat and a full list of the colour options available, please contact the TD Sales Team.

Ceramic coating is a popular option for many of Turbo Dynamics’ customers as, by reducing air intake temperatures, it offers increased engine performance and reduces ‘turbo lag’ or ‘spool’ time by keeping the turbine inlet gases hot. Ceramic coating also reduces or can even eliminate fuel vaporisation, which is vital in a time where fuel prices are rocketing. Further benefits of ceramic coating parts include better reliability through reduced under-bonnet temperatures, protection for heat sensitive components, improved safety through a reduction in fire risk and better conditions for drivers because of reduced cockpit temperatures. Furthermore, a reduced under bonnet temperature of 30ºC has been proven to increase power by up to six percent (6%), which could provide a huge difference for race teams etc. where just one second in a race could mean make or break.

Of the new agreement, Turbo Dynamics Managing Director, Peter Marsh said, “The thermal coating product fits in well with the performance side of our business, as well as enabling us to offer the customer a one stop shopping experience if they are looking for thermal coating on their manifold, exhaust system and turbocharger.

“The coating provides a real benefit wherever under bonnet temperatures are an issue. It protects under bonnet components that might otherwise be damaged through heat radiation, whilst general under bonnet temperatures are also greatly reduced. The applications are endless. In terms of turbocharger performance, the thermal dynamics are such that keeping the heat within the exhaust gases provides an increased response with reduced spool-up times, and we anticipate further demand from our continued development in the diesel performance arena.”

In agreement, Zircotec Managing Director Terry Graham said “Zircotec is delighted to start its reseller program with such a proactive and acclaimed company as Turbo Dynamics. We now look forward to working more closely with Turbo Dynamics as a Zircotec reseller, and also extending our relationships with other organisations.”

Another string to TD’s bow is that they have also become an official Silkolene Distributor and now offer their customers race specification oils at competitive prices; vital when every penny counts and people are only buying from the cheapest suppliers.

Fuchs-Silkolene has one of the most comprehensive ranges of high performance motorcycle and motorsport lubricants, developed on the race track to ensure ultimate performance and protection. The name has even been linked to many great power sport achievements at European and Worldwide levels, proving Silkolene Lubricants to be world class in many diverse motorsport activities, including motorcycles, watercraft, car racing and kart racing.

The extended product range boasts engine oils based on synthetic ester and patented ‘Electrosyntec’ technology: Pro R 15W-50 oil, Pro S 10W-50 oil etc. in 1L and 5L containers, transmission oils, brake fluids, treatments and additives: Pro Cool and Pro Boost etc., cleaners and grease.

Turbo Dynamics have already found Silkolene’s Pro Boost to be a popular product with their customers. An efficient octane improver, Pro Boost has been specifically designed to combat pre-ignition or “pinking” and improve acceleration, especially in tuned or re-mapped engines. Pro Boost also improves throttle response and facilitates cold starting.

Nick Alliston, Fuchs Lubricants (UK) Plc Commercial and Automotive Area Manager said of the partnership with Turbo Dynamics “We are excited to be associated with the high quality products and services available from a company as fresh and innovative as TD. The range of Fuchs Silkolene specialist lubricants is a natural partner that enhances the professional and unique attention to customer service available from TD.”
