Barratt York, which develops new homes in North and East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire, has struck Gold in the 2007 British Housebuilder Awards, a major survey of new home buyers. Housebuilder Barratt York has scooped a top award following a major survey of new home buyers. The company struck Gold in the 2007 British Housebuilder Awards, in which 30,000 questionnaires were sent to homeowners, quizzing them on standards of customer service, good design and whether they would buy another house from the same builder.

Rhoddy MacKinnon, Barratt York Construction Director, was presented with the Gold Award in the category for housebuilders completing over 500 new homes a year, at a ceremony in London’s Savoy Hotel.

He said: “Winning this is extremely important to us and our buyers. Passion and teamwork and carrying out our customers’ wishes are what counts in today’s competitive market. We have all worked very hard to get where we are today and we are totally committed to customer care. Without them we would be out of business. We adapt our service by listening.”

This latest success follows a hat-trick of awards for quality workmanship recently won by Barratt York site managers in the National House Building Council’s Pride In The Job campaign.
