Help is at hand for house hunters in Norton

Priorpot Mews Malham exterior Moving house can be a tricky business but Redrow Homes has stepped forward to help take the strain from home hunters in Norton. The award-winning house builder is inviting prospective buyers to its Priorpot Mews development at Norton, near the market town of Malton, to meet with the experts.

Under the banner ‘don’t move until you’ve talked to Redrow’, financial advisors, estate agents and Redrow staff will be on hand over the weekend of 8 / 9 September to give advice to people searching for their new home

Sue Lambert, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), said: “This weekend is all about helping people to move house with as little stress as possible.

“Prospective buyers will be able to get advice on the options that are available to them such as Redrow’s Mastermove scheme, and part-exchange programme.”

The hugely successful Mastermove service has helped thousands of home buyers all over the UK to move smoothly and swiftly.

It allows customers to ‘hold’ their dream Redrow home for up to four weeks, while Redrow pursues a targeted action plan – and all for a minimal fee of £50. Once their house has been sold, Redrow will then pay all of the estate agent’s fees, and refund the £50 Mastermove fee.

Sue continues: “We will appoint a carefully chosen local estate agent to manage the sale of our customer’s existing property, including a free valuation. Once appointed, a member of the local Redrow team will chase the agent up on a weekly basis and deal with any ‘red tape’ – leaving the customer with more time to concentrate on planning their move to a brand new Redrow home. And the fact that we will pay the estate agent’s fees at the end of the day is a massive saving.”

With the part-exchange programme Redrow will buy a customer’s existing property, subject to criteria, taking the problem of finding a buyer out of their hands completely.

As part of the Mastermove and part-exchange schemes Redrow can even cover the cost of a Home Improvement Pack (HIP) for customers whose related sale requires one.

HIPs are already compulsory for properties with four or more bedrooms and all vendors must commission one when selling their home. They will shortly be introduced for three-bedroom properties too.

They must contain copies of title deeds, any recent planning permission or building consent given on the property, a local area search and an energy performance certificate (EPC).

Sue adds: “It’s all about helping our customers as much as possible and doing what we can to facilitate their move into a brand new Redrow home.”

Homes on offer at Priorpot Mews include two-bedroom apartments, ideal for young professionals and empty nesters and two, three and four-bedroom houses for young and growing families.

The development enjoys a semi-rural location, yet offers easy access to York and Scarborough, making it the ideal retreat for commuters.

Priorpot Mews is within walking distance of all of Norton’s amenities, while nearby Malton holds weekly street markets and offers a range of quirky independent shops, and York has all of the usual high street stores and a range of pubs and restaurants.

It is also ideally located for Dalby Forest, which caters for a range of outdoor activities, and the delightful Yorkshire Wolds

The “don’t move until you have talked to Redrow’ event will run from 10.30am to 5pm on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 September at Priorpot Mews, Norton.
