Gunn's shoot up the property ladder

13th October 2008 Print
Gunn's shoot up the property ladder Teachers Edward and Emma Gunn were looking to leave behind their small, two bedroom terraced house in favour of something that offered a bit more space and flexibility. They found just what they were looking for at George Wimpey North Yorkshire's Trimdon Station development, The Hawthorns.

The plot of choice was a stylish four bedroom, three storey Brentwood townhouse. The couple managed to secure this property at a great price using George Wimpey's Easymover scheme.

"We managed to achieve exactly was we set out to," commented Edward. We wanted to take that next step up the property ladder and we were able to secure more house for our money than we originally bargained for, without having to deal with the hassle of selling our existing home.

"The location is great and allows us to easily commute to work in Stockton while the surrounding views are superb."

Field sales manager Maria Gatehouse commented: "The Easymover scheme allowed the Gunn's to reserve their Brentwood plot for just £250.

"Two free initial valuations from two independent estate agents were then received before we agreed a marketing price with Gunn's for their current property based on the valuations. We then worked closely with the estate agent to make sure we get a sale on their previous property."

The ground floor of the Brentwood comprises a kitchen with breakfast area, and a large living room with dining area and French doors that open out into the rear garden. On the first floor are two bedrooms with family bathroom and on the second floor there are two generously sized bedrooms, with en-suite to the master bedroom.

"We have so much more space now", added Emma. "It's great for entertaining and having friends and family over to stay."

The Hawthorns is located on Cinnamon Drive in Trimdon Station, Durham. With a number of affordable homes, it is ideal for buyers looking for the perfect family home.

The development consists of just 71 properties, including three and four bedroom detached homes and four bedroom, three storey townhouses. Prices start at £124,950, with fantastic deals available on selected plots.

The Hawthorns is situated in the semi rural location of Trimdon Station which has a range of local amenities. A wealth of shopping and leisure facilities can be found in Durham and Hartlepool which are only a short drive away.
