Housebuilder shows its pink side in Spennymoor Visitors to George Wimpey North Yorkshire's Moorcroft development will get a nice surprise this weekend (1st and 2nd November) - as the development sports an eye-catching pink makeover. The temporary new look is to coincide with the end of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the housebuilder has vowed to donate a percentage of any sales made over the weekend to Breast Cancer Care.

Debbie Whittingham, sales and marketing manager for George Wimpey North Yorkshire, says: "With so many people in North Yorkshire and across the country affected by breast cancer, we thought Breast Cancer Care would be a fantastic charity to support, especially as October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We have collection boxes on site for our staff and visitors, and a percentage of any reservations we get this weekend will be donated to Breast Cancer Care."

Breast Cancer Awareness Month was introduced as a worldwide campaign in 1993 by Evelyn Lauder, and Breast Cancer Care was the first breast cancer charity in the UK to get involved. The aims of the month are to increase awareness of breast cancer, raise funds for research into the disease and support people affected by the disease.

Moorcroft features a selection of four bedroom detached Ashton properties and four bedroom Calderbrook townhouses, all of which are surrounded by beautiful open fields.

Spennymoor provides an ideal location for a family development, benefiting from an excellent range of local amenities and schools. The historical city of Durham is also only a short drive away, providing a further wealth of shopping and leisure facilities.

Nearby Jubilee Park offers a peaceful haven for walkers and joggers, while sports fans will delight in the development's proximity to Sedgefield Racecourse and the local leisure centre which offers a swimming pool, football coaching, martial arts tutoring, tennis and badminton lessons and a gymnasium.

Moorcroft is also perfectly placed for transport, providing commuters easy access to the A688, A177, A181 and A1.
