York’s housing market sees revival

York’s housing market sees revival York’s property market is experiencing a new lease of life. Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire’s aptly titled Revival development in Dringhouses has just been named its most popular development this year after receiving a record number of visitors.

The sought after outlet of new build apartments, townhouses and detached homes off Tadcaster Road has proved a great success with buyers keen to own a high quality home close to the heart of York. Eight homes have already been sold and the first residents have now moved in.

Sales executive, Josie Terry, commented: “We’ve had a very successful year with a continual stream of visitors coming along to view our show homes and get a feel for the development. Things are moving quickly and it’s lovely to welcome our first residents to the development.”

Josie believes that part of Revival’s appeal is its location: “This is certainly a highly desirable spot. Visitors like it because it’s easy to get into the city centre and, with Tesco just a short walk away, it’s convenient for food shopping. There are also good schools and well established amenities nearby so it’s ideal for families.”

Currently available at the development is a three bedroom Boston townhouse priced from £299,995, a four bedroom Whitchurch home priced from £379,995, a five bedroom Bexley from £414,995 and a four bedroom Conway home overlooking the development’s play area, priced from £379,995.

George Wimpey is currently offering home seekers at Revival an opportunity to part-exchange their current property for a new home at the development. The scheme is available on selected properties and provides purchasers with a guaranteed buyer, a hassle free move as well as removing the financial burden of estate agents fees.

Josie said: “The most stressful aspect of buying a new home is selling your current property. With part-exchange you don’t have to worry about whether your house will sell and in what timescale because we buy your home from you so you are effectively not in a chain.”

Located on the site of the former York College, Revival benefits from a superb location within easy access of the city centre and close to supermarkets and well-established amenities.

There are three show homes now open at Revival. For more information call into the sales information centre off Tadcaster Road in Dringhouses, which is open Thursday to Monday from 11am until 5.00pm. Further details about the development are also available online at georgewimpey.co.uk.
