Billingham couple swap old for new

With a new build property in the Billingham area on the shopping list, locals Kenny and Sue Twizell found themselves at George Wimpey North Yorkshire’s The Fairways development on Greenwood Road.

The development ticked all the right boxes – new build homes, close to Billingham town centre, attractive price and a part exchange scheme which meant that they wouldn’t have to worry about selling their current home.

Kenny Twizell commented: “Sue had wanted to move house for quite a while – we hadn’t planned to stay in our current home for so long but we had to wait until the kids were grown up before we could think about it.

“I’d always wanted to live in a new build home because I wanted everything to be brand new with no work required. Our last house was a fixer upper and I didn’t want that again, so a home with George Wimpey was perfect.

“We’d seen the adverts for The Fairways locally and I work for a company who work with George Wimpey, so I’d heard about the development as well as seeing it advertised.”

The move to The Fairways from their three bedroom terraced house was just a short trip down the road and meant that they could stay in Billingham, a town which they didn’t want to move away from.

The couple used George Wimpey’s part exchange scheme to move to a four bedroom, three storey Arlington home at The Fairways.

With the Part Exchange scheme, George Wimpey buys the purchaser’s current house from them removing all the pressure involved with selling their house and leaving them free to move into their new home.

Kenny added: “We picked the Arlington because it was so spacious and had its own dining room. The price was also really good value for money. The part exchange scheme was really helpful as well and everything moved along very quickly. We’ve been living here for about a month now and everything’s going great.”
