The Motorexpo: a different kind of Motor Show

The Motorexpo: a different kind of Motor Show From 22nd to 28th May 2006, Canary Wharf will be hosting the 11th annual Motorexpo – London’s premier free-to-visit motor show.

Over 30 motor manufacturers will be represented at the Motorexpo and will be exhibiting throughout the 97-acre Canary Wharf estate: both outdoors and indoors. Fountains, marble lobbies and landscaped parks all offer a spectacular showcase environment for many of the latest cars and bikes.

Visitors will be able to see a number of exciting UK show debuts including: the Audi Q7, Subaru B9 Tribeca, Volkswagen Eos, Range Rover Sport HST, all-new Jaguar XK, Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT & the Carver One.

Exhibitors offer unparalleled easy access to the cars and bikes on display and, far from being a static exhibition, the Motorexpo offers visitors the opportunity to test drive cars from manufacturers such as Toyota, Cadillac & Maserati. Other interactive features such as the 'Land Rover Experience' also add to the excitement of the show, and there will be the chance to see some of the latest innovations in ‘greener’ motoring including new fuel technologies, hybrid and electric cars.

This year the Motorexpo will run two months before the British International Motor Show at ExCel, and will offer visitors a different kind of experience to other mainstream events: set in one of the world's most remarkable urban environments, the Motorexpo offers free entry and, with over 200 shops, bars and restaurants on the Canary Wharf estate, the show has a relaxed, business-like atmosphere.

Graeme Carver, Motorexpo Managing Director comments, "The Motorexpo is primarily a business-focused show, with many of our visitors being business people from right across London; however, since its launch in 1996, the Motorexpo has grown to become a platform at which many manufacturers choose to show their latest vehicles for the first time; this has widened our audience and now attracts motoring enthusiasts from across the country."

In 2005 it was estimated that over 300,000 people visited the week-long show and this number is set to increase in 2006 as Canary Wharf’s working population has risen by almost 10% in the past 12 months.

Graeme Carver comments, "One of the reasons that the show has developed at such a rate is that it offers manufacturers’ unique access to London’s affluent business catchment, resulting in high quality leads and strong sales. The number of visitors continues to grow every year and we are looking forward to welcoming people to this year’s show."

As well as being a free-to-visit show, the official show guide - The Motorexpo Directory - will be given out to visitors’ free-of-charge on arrival.

2006 Motorexpo Business Partners are: BP Ultimate, Coutts, London City Airport & Docklands Light Railway.

Motorexpo opening hours are 10am-6pm from Monday to Saturday and 10am-5pm on Sunday.
