Kah:inspect - Next generation inspection software

9th December 2008 Print
Kah Systems, the UK’s leading vehicle inspection technology specialists and part of Manheim DeFleet Services, has launched a new version of its unique inspection software, building on the well established and successful Kah D:Fleet application. Kah:inspect is a major development in the drive to support vehicle asset owners in the identification of vehicle condition damage and recovery of costs, whether in the short term rental or long term lease environments.

Kah Systems has created additional value with the new application by partnering with Oracle to integrate the industry-leading Sidewinder real-time scheduler to Kah:inspect. This allows vehicle inspections to be booked and planned in advance and allocated to specific inspectors, together with continually refreshed job schedules. These process enhancements reduce drive times, mileage costs and improve response to specific client job flows by managing the service level delivery on each account.

The introduction of Kah:inspect enhances further Manheim’s position as the UK’s leading de-fleet services and remarketing company. Key product features of the new fully PDA-based mobile inspection system include full damage and repair pricing capability using Thatcham pricing data, over 19,000 different damage reporting combinations, customer signature capture, online vehicle ID checks, unlimited imaging capability, instant hard copy reports for the user and full UK based support and training. Most significantly, Kah:inspect is a fully configurable application with the option to design a range of inspection screens and report templates, matching exact client requirements at a contract or customer level. Sophisticated rule sets oblige inspectors to complete each vehicle inspection in line with the business rules associated with the client’s requirements.

In a single format, Kah:inspect enables immediate and comprehensive assessment of vehicle condition by a trained inspector and generates any consequent charges due from the user. The report can be electronically endorsed at the roadside and full reports provided in minutes to client credit control departments, to pursue fully documented claims with customers - particularly relevant in the current climate, where the recovery of all costs, takes on particular significance. Kah:inspect can also be used by a less skilled operator to identify, and if required charge, occasional damage incurred during short term rental contracts or during vehicle transport, a process which is typically carried out on paper today.

David Mercer, Managing Director of Manheim DeFleet Services said: “In this period of economic uncertainty, the efficient management of hired assets and effective recovery of damage charge entitlement can make a huge difference to a company’s bottom line. Innovative inspection software such as Kah:inspect is ideally suited for this type of use as well as driving operating efficiencies in vehicle logistics activities and de-fleet operations.”
