Waterside living in Leighton Buzzard

A view across the Grand Union Canal at The Wharf Buyers are gearing up to experience waterside living first hand at The Wharf, near Leighton Buzzard, as the magnificent show homes prove too irresistible to resist.

The Wharf showcases two-bedroom apartments, which - unlike many apartments on the market - are often as big as a conventional house, complete with storage cupboards, fitted wardrobes and, in some cases, utility rooms.

The launch of two new show apartments has boosted popularity and led to fewer than half of the properties remaining for sale in the first release at this popular Redrow development, situated alongside the Grand Union Canal.

Mary Timlin, Sales Director for Redrow Homes (South Midlands) says: “The popularity of the development is the result of the fantastic canal-side location and the wonderful show apartments, which allow buyers to envisage their future at The Wharf in detail.

“A lot of people are often surprised by how big the apartments are - they range up to 840 square feet. By seeing these show apartments, buyers are able to see the potential of the homes and just how much space there is.”

The larger show apartment promotes ‘hotel chic’ with young couples in mind. Neutral colours with mirrors and light reflective wallpaper imitate the glassy effect of the water, creating the element of space, while artwork, a sheepskin rug and a feather shaped light add perfect finishing touches.

The second show apartment uses a summer theme with crisp apple, aqua and lime colours, to reflect the relaxation and tranquillity of life at The Wharf.

A typical apartment at The Wharf has two bedrooms, an en-suite shower room to the master bedroom, as well as the main bathroom, fitted wardrobes in bedroom one, open plan kitchen and living area, two storage cupboards and a single parking space. Current prices range from £169,995 to £219,995.

Leighton Buzzard is just a 35-minute train journey to London Euston making it an excellent commuter link for those who want to escape from the hustle and bustle of the capital after a hard day’s work.

It’s also a great place to live with lots of attractions in its own right, for Leighton Buzzard is a bustling market town, boasting many shops, a post office, a medical centre and beautiful historic buildings dating back to the Middle Ages.

The area provides fantastic transport links to nearby Dunstable and Milton Keynes, while the M1 and M40 are also within easy reach. Luton International Airport is just 12 miles away, accessible by bus and car, while Heathrow Airport is 40 miles away.
