A helping hand for first time buyers in Cranfield

28th July 2009 Print
A helping hand for first time buyers in Cranfield Leading developer Bloor Homes has made owning an idyllic new countryside property more achievable for many purchasers, thanks to an enterprising buying plan at its Cranfield Gardens development in Cranfield, Bedford.

Under the BloorHomeStart2 initiative, buyers can move into one of the development’s stunning 1 and 2 bedroom houses from just £127,500.

The initiative by Bloor Homes has arrived just in time after a recent report from The National Housing Federation which estimates 103,000 young people aged between 24 and 35 will migrate from villages and market towns to urban areas by 2012. Waiting lists for affordable homes have soared by around 40 per cent to 700,000 in rural areas over the last five years as younger adults have been priced out of the market.

Vanessa Macnee, Sales Director for Bloor Homes comments: “The BloorHomeStart2 plan represents an exceptional opportunity for a range of purchasers to access the property market in a premier countryside development. Cranfield Gardens is an impressive project which draws upon its charming village setting to create a series of traditionally designed homes that are perfect for modern living.”

The BloorHomeStart2 plan will come as a welcome respite for many potential buyers in a challenging current property market. Under the terms of the scheme, purchasers need only finance 85% of the property’s value to take ownership and move in. The remaining 15% is to be paid back at market value up to 10 years later or upon selling the property, whichever event comes first. Unlike many part-ownership schemes, there is no additional interest on the loan or rent payable on the 15% equity.

The development of 22 new homes is ideal for families and the stunning Bramwell show home is a fine example of the properties on offer. Furthermore, any purchasers who reserve a property before the end of August will be entered into a prize draw for a holiday to Euro Disney.

One bedroom properties include the Rotherfield coachouse priced at just £149,950. On the ground floor, a single garage is ideal to lock the car away or use for additional storage space, while the first floor provides plenty of spacious living accommodation. An open plan kitchen / lounge / dining area is ideal for relaxing and entertaining guests while having the added bonus of double doors which open out to a balcony area. The double bedroom has fitted wardrobes while the main bathroom has all the latest specifications.

Prices at Cranfield Gardens start from £127,500, 85% of the current market price of one bedroom homes. The show home and sales centre are open daily from 10am to 5pm, or visit bloor-homes.com.
