BEN beats the crunch with BCA

A total of £4,839 was raised through a variety of local fund-raising efforts during 2008 and BCA Director Keith Rogers was delighted to present Alfred Friday, BEN’s Assistant Director of Fundraising with a cheque just before Christmas.
Keith Rogers commented “BEN does a great deal of good work for those who have served our industry, but now need some support themselves. And when times are tough – like now – charities such as BEN need our help more than ever.”
He added “We believe that company fund raising works best if the whole team is involved right from the start. Each of our regional centres was given the opportunity to raise money for BEN in their own way and they responded with a range of innovative schemes that generated a substantial sum.”
BCA centres staged ‘dress-up’ and ‘dress-down’ days, Teddy Bear auctions and traditional ‘bucket-collections’ and with the support of customers and suppliers raised nearly £5,000 for BEN. Staff at BCA’s Brighouse centre were the biggest contributors, generating £1,250 for BEN thanks to the efforts of the ‘Brighouse Cheer Leaders’ who added humour, cheer and glamour to the mix.
Alfred Friday commented on behalf of BEN “BCA should be congratulated for their consistent and long term partnership approach to fund-raising with BEN. We are delighted to accept this cheque which will be put to very good use indeed.”
