Rent with a BVRLA member for peace of mind
The BVRLA has improved the annual examination of its commercial vehicle members, including a more rigorous inspection of centrally-held maintenance records. It means that operators that choose a BVRLA member company when they rent or contract hire (with maintenance) a commercial vehicle can rest assured that the maintenance and servicing records have been independently audited.
VOSA stipulates that O-licence holders are responsible for ensuring that any vehicles they rent or lease are maintained and inspected to an adequate standard. The BVRLA has now confirmed that the annual CVQA audit it undertakes on its members meets VOSA’s guidelines, removing the need and expense for customers to obtain their own audit.
“This means that operators using a BVRLA member can remove another hassle,” said Nigel Martin, Ryder’s director of commercial vehicle rental sales, and vice-chairman of the BVRLA commercial vehicle committee.
“During a period when they have so many other pressing concerns, this added peace of mind gives transport companies yet another good reason to rent or lease their vehicles instead of buying them.”
