BCA Walsall scoops second Lex award The team at BCA Walsall are celebrating after being named best performing auction centre by major customer Lex for the second year running. The annual Lex Cup was awarded to BCA manager Jim Wilson by Lex’s National Auction Manager, Ken Boothe earlier this year. It is the first time that an auction centre has retained the cup for two years running.

The branch award is calculated on a sale-by-sale basis by the Lex auction managers, who award points across five specific areas of the business including price achieved. Once again, BCA Walsall was the clear winner.

Walsall hosts two Lex car sales every week, handling around 500 vehicles a month and regularly selling over 85% of the entry on behalf of Lex.

Lex’s Ken Boothe commented “It is a entirely appropriate to award this year’s Lex Cup to BCA Walsall. Having won last year, Jim and the team did everything apart from resting on their laurels! They continued to deliver the very best service and go the extra mile, demonstrating the maximum commitment to the Lex accounts throughout 2008. Equally importantly, they generated the buying power on the auction hall floor to deliver real results.”

There was also a new award for Account Manager of the Year, won by Blackbushe-based Jody Gray and again presented by Ken Boothe, who commented “Blackbushe is the biggest auction centre in the network and Jody works tirelessly to ensure the Lex business is well-managed and serviced at this location.”

Lex runs one of the biggest vehicle fleets in the UK, selling over 80,000 vehicles a year through auction. These annual awards are made to recognise the very best service and results delivered in the remarketing process.
