Newly weds celebrate new start

And as if that was not enough, Adam (31) and Jenny (26) Hesketh rounded off 2007 with a December wedding! Yet the newly weds are testimony to the fact that change, no matter how big, can be both manageable and enjoyable, as long as you plan it smartly and don’t shy away from asking for help.
Following their engagement in (July 2006), graphic designer Adam and Jenny, a HR manager, decided they wanted to move to a bigger home. Having sold their existing property at the beginning of 2007, they approached Persimmon Homes on the day of the launch of its Hamilton Grange development in Worcester and were the first buyers to reserve a plot.
Adam says: “We really like Worcester and Jenny has strong links to this area so we wanted to move locally and without hassle. We set out to buy a brand new home because it was easy. As soon as we reserved our plot, we knew we could relax and look forward to moving in later in the year, which gave us the peace of mind we needed to get on with our wedding plans.”
He continues: “Thankfully, we have very supportive families who offered to put us up whilst we were waiting for our new home to be finished. For about three months we lived miles apart from each other but it only made moving into the new home in October more special!
“Because we reserved our three bedroom property off plan, we were given almost complete freedom in the way the house would be finished, so we made sure it was done to our taste. Having Persimmon fit in various kitchen accessories and the tiles we wanted, as well as practical features such as the alarm and the aerial, meant we could devote all our time to the wedding preparations,” he adds.
Jenny says: “We would not have been able to enjoy last year quite as much, had it not been for Persimmon. The buying process was very smooth and we even got our stamp duty paid, which helped us enormously.”
Today, as the couple crack open a bottle of champagne, they are enjoying settling into their new home, their life together and their new city. Whilst trips to DIY stores are still taking up most of their weekends, Adam and Jenny are already looking forward to warm spring days when they will start exploring the city’s delights, located just a short walk away from home.
