Celebrating a new chapter at Cypress Grange

Celebrating a new chapter at Cypress Grange When it comes to looking for a new home in which to retire, everybody has different priorities. Looking for somewhere close to family and friends, which also enables you to maintain your independence can often be difficult to find. However for Eric and Hilda Davies, David Wilson Retirement Homes’ Cypress Grange development in Bromsgrove proved to be the ideal solution.

Eric and Hilda Davies wanted to move from their home in Bexhill-on-Sea, but knew they wanted something special, as Eric explains: “We are celebrating our 65th wedding anniversary in July, and wanted to make a big change to celebrate. We first saw Cypress Grange whilst we were visiting our son in Bromsgrove and we loved the look of the development from the start, so immediately took a tour of the show apartment.”

Cypress Grange offers a mix of one and two bedroom apartments, and is set amongst beautiful landscaped surroundings, situated within a short distance of local amenities. Eric continues: “The development is incredibly close to everything we could need; the main high street is only a short walking distance away, along with excellent bus links should we choose to go further a-field. In fact when we moved to Cypress Grange we also brought our car along too, but since moving here we have found that there was no use for it, and subsequently it’s now been sold!”

With a friendly mix of neighbours and a strong community spirit, residents are able to maintain an independent lifestyle, something that played a large part in the Davies’s moving. Hilda adds: “The biggest appeal of the development was the strong community spirit. When we decided to move we knew a lot of friends that we left behind, so were nervous about making a new start. However there is a really strong community spirit at Cypress Grange and everyone has made us feel welcome whilst we have been setting down new roots.”

Eric adds: “We had been considering moving from our old home for some time. We’ve lived on the South Coast for nearly 40 years, but living in a larger property was becoming unmanageable and we weren’t spending our retirement together the way we wanted to. At Cypress Grange all of the building maintenance is taken care of by the service team, which leaves us able to enjoy our retirement the way we should.”

In addition to the service team, security is also a priority and each apartment includes an advanced security system with television surveillance at the main entrance. There are also two beautifully furnished day rooms, for residents to enjoy and regular coffee morning events to add to the social atmosphere. All of the retirement apartments are also linked to a 24 hour Care-line system should emergency assistance be required, providing residents and family with peace of mind.

Sales director, Michelle Edwards, comments: “Every purchaser has different priorities when it comes to buying a new home. Finding a genuinely first rate location with quality high specification accommodation and superior after sales care are always high on purchasers’ lists, but we know that it is especially important when it comes to searching for a place to live in retirement.

“At Cypress Grange we have considered all of our purchaser’s priorities to provide homes which allow ease in day-to-day life, whilst maintaining independent lifestyles. The friendly residents and staff also mean there is a strong community spirit, making it a truly special place in which to find your new home.”

Properties at Cypress Grange range in price from £180,000 for a one bedroom apartment to £225,000 for a two bedroom apartment.
