Top dogs give their views on new homes

Dusty spends most of his days lazing around on the living room sofa. From here, he can eye up potential new neighbours, as they visit the nearby showhome, and keep his watchful eye on the neighbourhood.
But Dusty’s favourite thing is pampering. His owner Elaine Stewart comments: “Dusty is quite popular in this neighbourhood and many people stop and talk to him, so I make sure he always looks his best.”
“His favourite place in the area is a local dog parlour where he gets the full works - a bath, shampoo and conditioning, followed by nail clipping and ear cleaning, topped up with a decent haircut and a blow dry. It’s a real treat and he thoroughly enjoys it.”
“Despite the fact I am a hairdresser, I would not dare cut his hair as it’s actually quite difficult to trim. But I reward him for behaving so well during his treatment by serving up his favourite dish afterwards – spaghetti Bolognese.”
And although Dusty suffers from a fear of other dogs he has recently befriended Verity, a docile 18-month old labrador/retriever cross, who lives just round the corner.
Verity gets board and lodgings at the four bedroom Manorbier house type whilst she is being trained as a guide dog.
Marilyn Johnson, guide dog boarder for Trainee Guide Dogs for the Blind, takes Verity on long walks along the river Severn and ensures the pet gets all she needs when she returns from her classes at the local guide dog training centre.
She comments: “Verity is a big dog who loves spending time in the garden and, like all future guide dogs, requires some physical exercise. There is plenty of green space at and around this development and we have a spacious home which is ideal for raising a guide dog in training.”
Hamilton Grange is situated off Bath Road and comprises a selection of 91 properties ranging from traditional three bedroom semis to three-storey detached four bedroom houses which cater well not only for humans but also demanding pooches. The development benefits from a fantastic green location next to the river Severn. Situated in the popular residential area of Broomhall, it offers easy access to the M5 linking to Cheltenham, Gloucester and Birmingham.
