Planning granted for Bryant homes Badsey

Bryant Homes has recently received planning permission to build 30 new homes in Badsey at Stone Pippin Orchard, a development which was named by local historians.

The development, on Badsey Fields Lane, will comprise a collection of stylish three, four and five bedroom detached homes which will overlook playing fields and are designed to appeal to a range of purchasers.

Anne Wallace, regional sales and marketing director for Bryant Homes, said: “We’re thrilled to have been granted planning permission to bring our new Stone Pippin Orchard development to fruition. As we’ve been building in the Worcestershire region for a number of years, many people will be familiar with the quality and design of our homes so we’re expecting a lot of interest from buyers.”

The development was named Stone Pippin Orchard after suggestions from the local history group, Badsey Society, who traced the history of the actual site back to the early nineteenth century. The Badsey Society found that the location of ‘Stone Pippin Orchard’ is shown on the earliest known large scale map of Badsey: the 1812 Enclosure Map. Bryant Homes decided to refer to the historical name for the development after a suggestion from the history group.

Anne added: “We are appreciative of the history of the site and were happy to use the local society’s suggestion for our proposed development’s name – we are always keen to work as closely as possible with existing communities when building new developments.”

The Stone Pippin is a variety of dessert apple and the 1812 map shows that the orchard, owned then by a Joseph Jones, covered most of the area of the new site. Bryant Homes also plans to plant some Stone Pippin apple trees at the development to mark the historical connection.

Those looking for a stylish new home in an excellent location will find Stone Pippin Orchard, which is less than three miles from Evesham town centre, is right up their street. For day to day needs there are two large supermarkets in the centre of town, as well as the Riverside Shopping Centre and a number of smaller independent retailers.

Foodies will be in their element as the Vale of Evesham is one of the country’s most well-known fruit and vegetable production centres, due to its unusually fertile soil. Every Saturday there is a market in the square and a yearly Vale Asparagus Festival.

For commuters Stone Pippin Orchard is situated within easy reach of the A44, which offers access to all the amenities of Evesham as well as Worcester and all the regional road networks beyond. For those who prefer to leave the car behind and take the train Evesham Station offers services to destinations including Worcester, Hereford and Great Malvern as well as Oxford, Reading and London Paddington (which can be reached in approximately 1 hour 45 minutes).
