New cargo system for secure and simple boot loading

Webasto has now launched a modular luggage storage/retention product called Cargo System, which is designed to fit within the boot of virtually any vehicle.
Cargo System essentially comprises a boot base plate fitted with a twin rail system. The base plate can either be an Integrated version, tailored to completely replace the existing boot floor, or a Standard version, available in small (680mm w x 820mm d) or large (900mm w x 850mm d) sizes, which fastens securely to the existing boot floor with Velcro strips.
Once the new base plate is in place special adaptors are positioned on the twin rails to provide secure, easily adjusted location for a variety of fixings including telescopic frames, extendable luggage straps and sturdy, folding plastic boxes – each designed to keep fragile, bulky or heavy items of luggage firmly in place.
To save back strain whilst loading a moveable load floor is available which locates on the rails and enables luggage to be loaded at the boot sill, then simply pushed back into place.
There’s also a handy sill protection cover which rolls out over the boot sill to protect paintwork from luggage scuffs and dogs’ claws during loading or unloading – it also provides a seat when removing muddy hiking boots or wellies - and retracts under the base plate after use.
A growing number of car manufacturers, including Audi, BMW, Mercedes , Volvo and VW are already incorporating a boot rail system as standard on certain models, or as a factory-fitted optional extra. In this case the Webasto Cargo System components can be utilised to provide a full luggage securing upgrade.
