Classic oil jugs on offer from Comma

Comma re- launched its range of Classic 30, Classic 40 and Classic 20w50 oils in 2007, to provide older vehicles with the protection not offered by modern lubricants.
The oil comes in retro-style tins and, to continue the historic theme, Comma is now offering a free vintage-style oil-pouring jug with purchases of its classic oil.
The individually packaged metal jugs, SRP £10 each, are available whenever two tins of Comma Classic Oil are bought during February and March.
Specialist mineral oils are vital for older cars as modern synthetic lubricants are often too thin for classics, plus the additives used in them can corrode materials such as leather, cork and felt, which are often used in older head gaskets.
In addition, detergents in modern oil can clean out engine deposits, which many older engines rely on. Removing them can cause a lack of performance in classic engines, which is why Comma developed oils to match the specification older cars require.
Classic 30 has been developed for winter motoring, a thinner viscosity helping the oil flow easily through colder engines, while Classic 40 is designed for summer, a thicker consistency aiding high-temperature performance.
While Classic 30 and 40 are monograde oils for seasonal use, Classic 20w50 is a multigrade oil for use all year round. The jugs will be available from participating Comma outlets, while stocks last.
