Part-exchange eases property ladder climb in Cardiff

Part-exchange eases property ladder climb in Cardiff The prospect of moving into a three storey townhouse at Barratt’s Ty Glas Square development in Cardiff was just the ticket for one local family to move up the housing ladder. And with Barratt’s part exchange scheme Alex Burke, James Burton and their two year old son Jac couldn’t have enjoyed a smoother process. Alex, a sales negotiator with Barratt, said they had been considering an extension to the family’s two bedroom house but fell in love with the three bedroom Norbury at Ty Glas Square.

“We just love the design of the house which has lots of space and the location is perfect,” said Alex.

Barratt Sales Director Sandra Dixon said the Norbury had been designed to meet the needs of the changing market and they have proved extremely popular with buyers in South Wales.

The design incorporates a living/dining room, fully fitted kitchen and cloakroom on the ground floor while on the first floor are two double bedrooms and a family bathroom.

On the second floor is the main bedroom with space for a dressing area and en-suite facilities.

“The layout is perfect to meet so many needs,” said Sandra. “The top floor is ideal as a master bedroom suite allowing children to have their own dedicated floor while for those who regularly entertain the top floor can be used to accommodate guests in luxury.”

Alex said it was quite strange looking after customers taking advantage of the part exchange option and going through the process herself but everything was as simple as straightforward as she had hoped.

“By using the part exchange option we didn’t have any of the stress involved in having to sell our own home and no worries about problems with chains.’’

A new phase of Norbury townhouses are set for release at Ty Glas Square with prices expected to start at around £263,000. Meanwhile potential buyers can take advantage of the part exchange option on the five bedroom Malvern priced at £399,995.

Ty Glas Square is a key location with everything you need literally on your doorstep. Marks and Spencer’s Simply Food is around the corner. There are good links to the city centre for commuters and easy access to the M4.

Local amenities include good primary and secondary schools in nearby Whitchurch and Rhiwbina. Just a five minute walk away, you'll find a Post Office, convenience stores, pubs, hairdressers and supermarkets.

Situated within the catchment region for Cardiff High and both Whitchurch and Birchgrove Primary Schools, and within easy reach of Heath Park, it's a great place to raise your family.
