Charity begins at home with Charles Church

Charity begins at home with Charles Church They say that charity starts at home, and this was certainly the case for the housebuilder Charles Church Wales as suppliers and staff donated more than £3,600 in sponsorship for a charity cycle ride.

Despite the credit crunch, donations for the 50-mile challenge came flying in and, at the end of last month a cheque for £3,631.37 was presented to the fundraising manager of Charles Church’s chosen charity, Dreams Dome True.

Nick Mason from the national charity, which makes the dreams of terminally or seriously ill children become a reality, visited Charles Church’s The Boulevard development in Llanishen to pick up the cheque.

The money was raised after a team of staff took on their very own ‘twin peaks’ cycle ride, which took them from the peak of Charles Church’s Aurora development in Swansea to the peak of the Century Wharf development in Cardiff Bay. The ride was completed in seven hours.

Andrew Crompton, Managing Director for Charles Church Wales, says: “This is a great way of highlighting that when purse strings are tightening, people are still digging deep to support charity.

“It was a great team building event for the seven members of staff who took part in the challenge, and a great way for our suppliers to support us even during difficult times."

Charles Church has raised over £500,000 for Dreams Come True in the last five years. The housebuilder has developments all over Wales. For further information, visit Charleschurch.com.
