Co-buying made easy with Barratt

Co-buying is becoming increasingly popular with young, first-time homebuyers due to higher house prices and living costs. Many such partnerships are formed through co-buying websites, where homebuyers search for likeminded people to become their ‘mortgage mate’. But when sisters Sarah, 19, and Natalie Day, 22 decided to buy their first home, there was no question as to who their ‘buddy’ would be.
After searching the property market the sisters soon came across the new Barratt Mercia development in Rugby. Sarah explained, “We just couldn’t find anything else that we liked, which came within our budget then we found the Parkside development. It has lovely open public spaces, whilst not being overlooked by other properties. As a new house there was no need for any DIY, a major advantage over the older properties we had been viewing. We were able to move in right away, knowing that everything would be ready for us.
“As first-time buyers we were worried about the lengthy and complicated process, but our Barratt Mercia sales negotiator made sure everything was explained perfectly, while remaining in close contact with us so we didn’t have to worry about a thing.
“We were also offered a great discount off the asking price, the stamp duty paid for along with all carpets. This gave us real peace of mind that we were getting extra value for money, which was obviously a huge consideration for us.”
Sarah and Natalie both working locally in admin roles, purchased a two-bedroom Richmond House, which includes a fully fitted kitchen, living/dining room, two bedrooms, one with en-suite, an attractive bathroom and spacious garden. When deciding who would have the master bedroom, Natalie said, “We both agreed amicably that I should have the en-suite bedroom, although I like to think it’s because I’m the eldest!”
Located close to Rugby town centre and major motorway links makes Parkside an ideal central location. This, according to Chris Ashmore, Sales Director for Barratt Mercia, is just one of the reasons that makes Parkside great for co-buyers, “Individuals who buy together often have different needs and interests, making purchase decisions more difficult. However Parkside is close to all local amenities, meaning no-one has to compromise.”
Parkside currently offers only four remaining two- and three-bedroom houses and apartments. Prices for apartments begin at £141,500 while prices for houses start from £195,995.
