Bosch gains Supplier of the Year award

Vehicle Dynamics International, published by UKIP Media & Events, selected Bosch for its inaugural award because the company “is at the forefront of chassis technology development.” An independent panel of respected international automotive journalists were selected as judges, under the chairmanship of the magazine’s editor Graham Heeps. The panel commented on some of the most recent Bosch developments including a focus on the integration of active and passive safety systems, a yaw rate sensor currently under development that is half the size of the previous component but with the same accuracy and response time, plus a new version of parking assistant that will work with hydraulic power steering.
One of the award’s judges Juergen Zoellter said, “In 2008 Robert Bosch GmbH took over Innovations Softwaretechnologie in order to get the know-how for a better IT-based integration of automotive systems for the future. That’s an essential strategy for the future, I believe. More generally, the cars of today can be powered by smaller and more efficient drivetrains due to innovative Bosch technologies. There is no similar player in the worldwide automotive industry with such successful solutions”.
“We are delighted to receive this prestigious award”, said Hermann Kaess, Managing Director of Bosch Automotive OE in the UK. “Gaining recognition for our work in the area of chassis systems, particularly related to safety, is much appreciated by our engineers and further encourages us to continue and extend our development work”.
