Barratt employee wins opportunity to meet childhood idol

Tracy, Sales Negotiator at The Leys in Bedworth commented, "I have been part of the online official fan club for 15 years and receive weekly updates about events and latest news. When the email popped up I replied back straight away. I was in complete shock when I received an email back from Joan's website asking me to attend the event and meet her in person. I have been a big fan for many years, ever since my uncle played her music around the house when I was a child.
"Joan was receiving an honorary degree at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow and she took the opportunity to invite some of her most loyal fans along to see the ceremony and ask her questions. When I had the chance to speak to her I thanked her very much for my invitation and congratulated her on her achievement and fantastic performance. It is something I will always remember."
Joan Armatrading has been making music since her first album ‘Whatever's for Us' in 1972 entered into the blues charts and her acoustic guitar sounds and electric solos have stood the test of time in the blues music industry.
Tracy continued; "For the special event Joan wore a cap and gown with a red sash to receive her honorary degree and she went straight on stage to then give one of her best performances to date."
Tracy is currently working at Barratts The Leys development in Bedworth which has just eight, four-bedroom houses now remaining. Prices start from £249,950. For more information log on to Barratthomes.co.uk/theleys.
