Retired couple upsize to dream home A retired couple have gone against the norm and upsized to a bigger property to enjoy later life after finding their dream home at David Wilson East Midlands' The Coppice development in Rugby.

Ken and Linda Horner, both 64, were living in a three- bedroom semi-detached property in Wolston but decided to move closer to a town for convenience and The Coppice development on Buchanan Road had exactly what they were looking for.

Linda says "We wanted a brand new home but didn't want to live on a big estate so when we looked around The Coppice it fitted the bill perfectly."

Tucked away amongst tall mature trees and greenery, The Coppice has aptly been described as David Wilson's hidden gem. Offering a selection of three-, four- and five- bedrooms homes and comprising just 55 properties in total, this select development has proved popular with buyers looking for high quality homes in a pleasant, tranquil environment.

After looking around the development, Ken and Linda fell in love with the traditional Rothley style which is a four- bedroom detached home with single detached garage.

Ken continues "We weren't looking for a four bedroom property for just the two of us, but the Rothley is literally the home of our dreams."

The ground floor of this particular design boasts a spacious combined kitchen and dining room to the rear of the property as well as a lounge and cloakroom. The first floor benefits from four bedrooms, the master with a delightful dressing area and en-suite, plus the main bathroom.

Linda continues "As soon as we saw the Rothley we fell in love - it's everything we wanted and more. The kitchen and dining room area is superb and is exactly what I've always dreamed of. I love our bedroom too, especially the dressing room, it's delightful.

Ken adds "We've converted one of the bedrooms into a second lounge and another into a study. It's great because we've been able to adapt the property to suit our particular lifestyle and needs but we've kept the second bedroom for when the grandchildren come to stay.

Linda concludes "I love living in a new build- everything is brand new and I really like the modern look. Sometimes I can't quite believe that we actually live here but we love our new home and couldn't imagine living anywhere else now."

Philip Lacey, Sales Director for David Wilson says "The Coppice is an exquisite development and one of the most picturesque in the David Wilson portfolio. It offers a fantastic collection of houses so I'm not surprised Ken and Linda found their dream home there.

"It's proved to be an extremely popular development not only due to the high quality homes on offer and it's setting, but also because of it's close proximity to Rugby and all the amenities it has on offer.

"Just two remain unsold at The Coppice, so if you don't want to miss out on owning a first class home in a desirable development and location, come and speak to our experienced sales negotiator today."

Prices for the remaining properties at The Coppice start from £239,995.
