New homes in Rugby prove popular

New homes in Rugby prove popular The regeneration of an old industrial site which has breathed new life into a redundant part of Rugby is nearing completion, with just a handful of homes remaining for sale out of a total of 175.

Previously a brickworks, the land adjacent to the former Willans Works site, off Edward Street, had been redundant until 2005 when Redrow Homes set about transforming it into a thriving residential community.

Just eight homes are left to sell at Willans Green, which made headlines back in May 2005 as the first launch site of Redrow’s unique ‘Debut’ first time buyer homes costing less than £60,000. These were complemented by a wide range of new homes for every kind of buyer.

Redrow puts the success of the development down to maintaining a traditional balance of town and country, in keeping with nearby Rugby’s historical appeal.

Mary Timlin, sales director at Redrow Homes (South Midlands), said: “We are delighted that the development has been so successful and is now in the final straights. We look forward to welcoming the final residents to this superb development. Willans Green is a great choice for first time buyers, couples and young families, as well as down-sizers.

“There are still homes available to move into right away and buyers are getting all the intrinsic benefits of a brand new home; more energy efficiency than older, second hand counterparts; a high specification that includes quality fixtures and fittings, modern kitchens and bathrooms, central heating, double glazing and no need for costly renovation; and the reassurance of the NHBC’s 10-year Buildmark warranty.”

Prices are from £121,995 to £164,995 and include two, three and four-bedroom homes. It’s also been chosen as one of 33 Redrow developments in England to offer the new HomeBuyer Direct scheme, where purchasers can get a joint equity loan from the Government and Redrow up to 30% of the purchase price, which is interest-free for the first five years.
