Fans snapping up tickets for final F1 Grand Prix at Silverstone

British fans have been snapping up tickets for the 2009 FORMULA 1 SANTANDER BRITISH GRAND PRIX, making the most of the opportunity to attend the final F1 British Grand Prix at Silverstone - the spiritual home of Grand Prix racing.

Tickets for all three days of the British Grand Prix, taking place on 19-21 June, have once again proved particularly popular with fans. A number of grandstands have already sold out, while ‘General Admission’ tickets, providing fans with the opportunity to watch all the action from various viewing locations around the famous Grand Prix circuit, have also been selling fast.

With only a limited number of three-day ‘General Admission’ tickets remaining, priced at £125 (for Friday to Sunday inclusive), Silverstone is expecting this category of ticket to sell out within a matter of weeks.

With ‘General Admission’ tickets close to selling out, and several grandstands already sold out, Silverstone officials are urging fans to book their tickets as soon as possible. Three-day and single-day tickets are still available in a number of terraces and grandstands, however, following two successive sell outs the message from Richard Phillips, Managing Director of Silverstone Circuits Limited, is a familiar one: “to avoid disappointment, fans should book tickets now for what will be the last British Grand Prix at Silverstone”.

Phillips added: “The 2009 British Grand Prix will be a double celebration – marking the last British Grand Prix at Silverstone for the foreseeable future and the homecoming for a British Formula 1 World Champion, Lewis Hamilton. This year’s event will be an occasion to remember for everyone involved; drivers, teams, media and – most importantly – the fans.

“The last two British Grands Prix at Silverstone have both sold out in advance and this year’s event looks set to sell out even earlier. Several grandstands are already at capacity, while ‘General Admission’ tickets are also close to selling out. However, there are still tickets available in a number of terraces and grandstands. This year’s British Grand Prix is going to be a real celebration and we would urge anyone wanting to join us to book their tickets as soon as possible.”

Tickets for the 2009 FORMULA 1 SANTANDER BRITISH GRAND PRIX are on sale 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
