Barratt helps first time buyers with Head Start

Barratt helps first time buyers with Head Start First-time buyers in Callington are being given a boost onto the housing ladder with Barratt's new initiative Head Start. The deal, available on apartments and houses at Calcos Place, is designed to ease the affordability issues many first time buyers are facing and make that first step onto the housing ladder and into property ownership.

Under Head Start, first-time buyers secure a mortgage for 85 per cent of the total property price and Barratt finances the remaining 15 per cent for up to 10 years.

Barratt will also pay the five per cent deposit for first time buyers and legal fees - a real bonus for those struggling to pay rent and save towards a new home.

"First time buyers are still facing many obstacles in becoming home owners and Barratt's Head Start scheme is tailored exclusively to help these people get on the property ladder," said Caroline Hill, Barratt sales director.

She said that the initiative is already generating a vast amount of interest and Barratt is urging people to enquire straight away to avoid disappointment.

Head Start is available on selected properties at Calcos Place, located close to Kit Hill, a local landmark, and to Bodmin Moor, and yet there is easy access to the vibrant city of Plymouth by car or bus. The nearby A30 and A38 provide links north and south, and Launceston is just 10 miles away.

The development enjoys a cul-de-sac location in the village of Kelly Bray and lies just a mile from Callington - with its traditional shops, supermarkets, weekly country market, sports clubs and schools.
