MY09 MUM... The perfect Mother’s Day gift

Twice the number of Personalised Registrations are now being bought as gifts, research carried out by DVLA Personalised Registrations has shown.

Between October 1, 2008, and January 31 this year, more than 46 per cent of private plates sold by the DVLA were bought for loved ones compared with 22 per cent five years ago.

Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Valentine’s Day account for nearly 10 per cent of the sales, with personalised plates bought as Christmas and Birthday proving most popular presents.

DVLA’s colossal 30 million-strong library available online at dvlaregistrations.co.uk is brimming with plates perfect for that special Mother’s Day gift including a series of “MY MUMs”; registrations comprising the letters MY followed by a suitable “year” and the letters MUM. These include MY09 MUM, MY02 MUM and MY08 MUM.
