Autoglym introduces pioneering ‘Perfect Palm’ car care devices

A trail-blazing new product launched today will revolutionise car care for motorists, car enthusiasts and professional valeters. Autoglym’s ‘Perfect Palm’ is a lightweight, ergonomic device for the application of cleaning and polishing products which ‘self-grips’ to the fingers of the hand, delivering exceptional performance with minimum physical effort.

The Perfect Palm concept, in development since 2004, is available from launch in two versions. The Perfect Palm Applicator (coloured red) features a foam pad which evenly and efficiently delivers cleaning products to a car’s bodywork, glass or upholstery. The surface of the Perfect Palm Microfibre (in blue) leaves an exceptional streak- and smear-free finish.

Ergonomic shape for minimal effort
The Perfect Palm device lightly and securely grips the user’s fingers, requiring no effort to keep it attached as an almost seamless extension of the fingers and palm. Weighing just 12 grams, it will fit 97 per cent of UK adults and fits both left and right hands. With no effort required to hold the device, it minimises the fatigue of the forearm and hand during car cleaning.

As the Perfect Palm devices can also be flipped over and worn on the back of the hand, they also make access to awkward-to-reach areas – such as the lower interior windscreen surface – almost effortless. By eliminating the need to grip a product-soaked cloth, the Perfect Palm device acts as a barrier between the user’s skin and the cleaning product and provides padded protection from the vehicle’s surfaces.

Efficient, even and economical application of the car care product
During the development process of the Perfect Palm Applicator, a vast array of foam types were evaluated before the final selection was made. The foam’s specific properties ensure an optimum amount of the cleaning product – usually less than would be applied using a cloth – is released onto the surface of the vehicle. And, without creases or folds, the foam delivers a perfectly even application of the product across the entire surface.

Streak-free finish
The surface layer of the Perfect Palm Microfibre is a high-quality premium weave fibre that achieves a perfect finish on bodywork or glass, and ensures an even, protective sheen on interior fascia and dash panels. Without the creases and folds of a cloth, it also eliminates unsightly streaks and smears from the resulting finish.
