Ryanair postpones start date for flights to Morocco from Germany and France
Ryanair has announced that it is postponing the start date of routes to Fez, Marrakesh and Oujda from France (Marseille) and Fez and Marrakesh from Germany (Frankfurt). To enable Ryanair to fly from France and Germany to Morocco, all EU member states must sign an updated open skies, European Common Aviation Area agreement which includes Morocco. This was originally expected in early October but it has been delayed and is now expected by 17th November.
As a result Ryanair now plans to start all routes from Marseille and Frankfurt to Morocco from 1st December 2006 onwards. All passengers who were booked to travel prior to this date will be sent an e-mail which will offer them either a full refund or free transfer to any flight on the same route between 1st December 2006 and 31st January 2007 inclusive.
Flights from the UK (London Luton) to Fez and Marrakesh will operate as scheduled from the beginning of November as Ryanair has already received approval from the UK and Moroccan authorities to operate this route.
The opening of the Marseille base (due on 8th November 2006) remains otherwise unaffected and operations will continue as normal from that date.
Ryanair sincerely apologises to all passengers for the delay to the start of these routes which is caused by circumstances outside of our control.
